Five steps to being smart with money

Budget

Credit Card Concise—How many credit cards do you need? Keep one and then one you forget where it is.  If you work part-time and you don’t have the funds to pay the full amount. You don’t need them. Dave Ramsey doesn’t use credit cards. On recent show, he said you can use your debit card, as a credit card. Good news!!! No need to get in debt with Capital One or American Express.

Savings! Savings! Savings! Once you pay off your smallest debt, try to add a little money to your savings. I recently opened up a money market savings with Ally.com.  I didn’t want another savings account with my bank.  I wanted to resist the temptation of dipping a little money out of it.

Discern between Wants versus Needs.

Delay! Delay! Delay!

The more you delay to use the sexy plastic card and go a get another purchase from Amazon.com or zulilly.com.  It will make you think this money doesn’t belong to me; therefore, once you swipe or order online chant this out loud, “I will owe company so and so.. and then I will have to send the money to such and such.
